VAS Area Manager

Job Purpose: Basic Function: VAS Area Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations for the VAS departments within all assigned sites. Manage and control custom assembly, kitting and distribution of promotional displays, repack and labeling while ensuring safety, quality, productivity and revenue goals are met.

This position is responsible for coordinating with the VAS Assistant Managers at assigned sites to schedule site hours of operation, maintenance and requisition of equipment and meet quality and housekeeping standards. The VAS Area Manager will coordinate priorities for all aspects of each production site to include KPI feedback, labor planning, performance documentation, process adherence while meeting customer demands. This position reports to the Director of Value-Added Services (VAS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily

  • Providing production/labor planning with status updates to VAS Director, VAS Project Managers and VAS Coordinators.
  • Review quality and performance KPI’s daily to ensure Safety, Quality and productivity goals are met.
  • Facility AIB / SQF / Gemba style walk through at assigned sites weekly at a minimum
  • Monitors and enforces productivity levels in the department.
  • Communicate with internal and external clients/vendors as needed.
  • Review departmental and production processes for continuous improvement
  • Sourcing supplies and materials.
  • Communicate / coordinate VAS activities with site Warehouse Managers

Weekly

  • Reporting of all revenue
  • Attending all strategic leadership meetings on a weekly basis.

Monthly

  • Review and verify department P&L
  • KPI Tracking
  • Maintaining and documenting maintenance of all equipment.

Quarterly

  • Ensure that performance reviews, training modules and goals are documented and completed as scheduled.
  • Special projects as assigned / needed.

Job Complexity:

  • Management skills and the ability to manage a staff of employees.
  • Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor and hold VAS staff accountable.
  • Ability to lead or support IT modification projects.
  • Ability to maintain an organized, neat and orderly operation as it pertains to VAS.
  • Ensures that all project and client KPIs are met or exceed expectations
  • Requires knowledge of reporting requirements as it pertains to VAS.
  • Good communication, problem resolution, and people skills.

Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of Warehouse and / or Production Management experience
  • Ability to report/track trending and historical data.
  • Must have strong business writing and case analysis skills.
  • Experience in Inventory Control, Production and Warehouse processes.
  • Computer skills, including Word, Excel (spreadsheet), Power Point, and ability to learn application software used in the Company.
  • Experience in facility safety and safety training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Regularly work in an indoor/office and production / assembly environment
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
