Schedule/Shift: 1st Shift Monday-Friday
Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
Job Purpose: This position will have the responsibility for assisting the Maintenance and Safety Manager with vendors and RJW Transport contract mechanics in addition to maintaining all company warehouse equipment and premises which includes forklifts, building maintenance, and housekeeping responsibilities. Will also prepare and maintain AIB standards for all warehouses. This position will report to the Facilities Director. Training and recertification of all associates on forklifts and food safety. Tracking the training performed will be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensuring that all maintenance activities in our facilities are appropriately carried out.
· Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
· Superior customer service skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations.
· Professional verbal and written communication.
· Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
· General computer knowledge
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to be on-call for responding after-hour emergencies
· Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
· Coordinates forklift maintenance and repair
· Supervises maintenance staff at multiple buildings and evaluates their performances.
· Ensures audit requirements at multiple facilities are maintained
· Provide training for multiple facilities for new hires on food safety, safety and forklifts
· Assess damages and reports them to respective facility manager for disciplinary follow up
· Able to fix routine maintenance items without supervision or instruction.
· Promotes and monitors safety of all employees at all facilities.
· Maintains detailed training and safety logs.

Qualifications:
· Maintenance: 2 years
· Food Safety and Awareness: 2 years
· Mechanical: 2 years
· Appliance repairs: 2 years
· Valid Illinois driver’s license.
· Vehicle to travel to other RJW Locations
· Safety/ Forklift training
· AIB Audit/ Organic Audit knowledge
· OSHA Standards
Education and/or Experience Required:
· High school or equivalent
· Running a high volume of training courses to certify material handlers on equipment
· Concrete drilling and power tool knowledge
· Leadership of janitorial/ housekeeping staff
Language Skills Sets:
· Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills:
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.
Computer Skills:
· To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software.
Physical Demands:
· Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
· Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
· Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
· Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
· Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
· Frequently required to be on your feet for long periods of time.
· Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
· Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
· Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
· Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
· Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
· Must be able to operate all powered industrial trucks in RJW’s fleet.
Work Environment:
· While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
